Beacon Placement Ltd is managed by a qualified and experienced social worker who is an adaptable, conscientious, enthusiastic, committed, passionate and self-motivated individual with over 19 years combined years of working in social care as a social worker, social work manager and social work lecturer. I have significant experience working with difficult and complex child abuse, care proceedings cases, children and young people who have suffered trauma, childhood developmental challenges and disabilities, parental substance misuse, neglect, fabricated illness, just to mention a few. These experiences were gained from working in Frontline social work, Care management, Early intervention and Prevention services.
I have also worked in a strategic role as a Domestic Violence and Child Sexual Exploitation Co-ordinator for a tough London Local authority. Further more I have been a qualified Practice Educator since 2011 and have supported and assessed over 40 social work students on their work placements in line with Social Work England standards of proficiency.
My experience of social work extended beyond case working, I worked as a Senior Lecturer in a renowned university, impacting and supporting social workers students through their social work degrees or masters’ studies.
Ivy Ampim
I am passionate and highly motivated individual with a first degree in Social Works and Psychology with combined experience in Human Resource Management, Project Management, and a lot of experience working in related social services and community work.
Very creative individual with employee wellbeing at heart and strong desire to make a positive influence in the community and working with people.
I am currently studying MSc psychology. mental health and wellbeing. I am been equipped with skills and knowledge in Clinical and counselling psychology, Mental health, Social psychology, Developmental psychology, Psychology of learning, Personality and individual difference, Psychology of social interaction, Cyberpsychology and Psychology of everyday life
I employ these and many different therapeutic modalities in my work with young adults to help them understand how they think, feel, act, and their emotional, psychological and social well-being with the premise that Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.
